In January, the number of local passengers was 1,543,385. Transfer passengers amounted to 30.5%, equal to 676,104 passengers.

Year on year, air traffic movements increased by 2.7% to 20,006 take offs and landings. The average passenger per movement figure increased to 129.8 (+4.6% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor was at 74.8% (+1.8 percentage points vs. previous year).

A total of 32,788 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport during the month of January. This led to a decrease of 0.1% in freight volume compared to last year.
