Changes to the Executive Board of Zurich Airport Ltd.
Several changes will take place in the Executive Board of Zurich Airport Ltd. in 2027. Stefan Tschudin, Chief Operation Officer, will leave the company. Stefan Gross, Chief Commercial Officer, is moving to Noida International Airport to support Zurich Airport Group’s growing activities in India. Lydia Naef, previously Chief Real Estate Officer, will now be responsible for the entire non-aviation business as Chief Commercial Officer. The current Real Estate division will be transformed into “Buildings & Constructions”, which will focus on construction projects as well as the operation and maintenance of properties. With these planned organisational changes, Zurich Airport Ltd. will complete its realignment of the Executive Board and thus set the course to meet the challenges of the years to come.
Stefan Tschudin to leave Zurich Airport Ltd.
Stefan Tschudin has worked for Zurich Airport Ltd. since 2007 and has been a member of the Executive Board since 2017 as Chief Operation Officer. As a former airline pilot and lawyer, he has played a major role in shaping Zurich Airport’s core aviation business and managed key aviation, regulatory and political dossiers with enormous professional expertise. He was responsible for ensuring and further developing stable and high-quality airport operations in the face of increasing operational complexity. His most important achievements include the successful operational management of the Covid-19 crisis and the subsequent resumption of airport operations, as well as the further development of operational business processes together with the system partners at Zurich Airport. In light of new strategic priorities, Stefan Tschudin will leave the company by mutual, amicable agreement in mid-2027. Until then, he will continue to work in his role.
Stefan Gross to transfer to India
Stefan Gross has been Chief Commercial Officer of Zurich Airport Ltd. since 2016. With his strong focus on customers and markets, he has played a decisive role in shaping the Commercial division for a decade, established robust partnerships and consistently developed the retail, catering and hotel offerings. Among his key successes are acquiring high-quality restaurants and bars for The Circle, designing the retail outlets and dining facilities as part of the “Development of the landside passenger zones” project and securing an award for the airport’s website that recognises it as the best in the world. He has greatly improved and digitalised the customer journey for our guests. In the future, he will take on the role of Executive Chairman at Noida International Airport. This underscores the importance of Noida International Airport for the company’s international activities.
Lydia Naef to extend her area of responsibility
Lydia Naef, previously Chief Real Estate Officer, will assume responsibility for the non-aviation business as Chief Commercial Officer. To this end, the existing Commercial division will take over tasks from the current Real Estate division. These include, in particular, the strategic planning of buildings, portfolio and asset management, and property management. The division will also be responsible for the further development of Zurich Airport as a destination, passengers’ customer experience, hospitality and mobility offerings, visitor services and digital customer platforms.
Newly structured “Buildings & Constructions” division
With a view to the extensive construction activity in the coming years, Zurich Airport Ltd. is creating a restructured division focusing on the project planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of all the buildings as well as the technical building and energy infrastructure at Zurich Airport. In doing so, Zurich Airport Ltd. is responding to the significant investment and renovation requirements of the coming years and improving its ability to successfully implement the major construction projects.
Changes to take place in 2027
The personnel and organisational changes will be implemented over the course of 2027. The recruitment of new Executive Board members for the Aviation and Buildings & Constructions divisions will begin in the coming weeks. The number of Executive Board members will remain unchanged. The other members of the Executive Board are CEO Lukas Brosi, CFO Kevin Fleck and Daniel Bircher, Chief Global Business Officer.
