Charity water at Zurich Airport: around CHF 224,000 for the Wisli Foundation

Summary

A Swiss mineral water is sold in the Avolta (formerly Dufry) duty-free shops at Zurich Airport. 50 cents per bottle is donated to a charitable organization. The proceeds of CHF 224,252.50 from the second half of 2024 went to the Wisli Foundation in Bülach. In the current first half of 2025, the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society will be supported.

The Wisli Foundation is already the tenth organization to be supported by Zurich Airport Ltd. and Avolta. Previous organizations include the RgZ Foundation, the Pfarrer Sieber Foundation, the Sternschnuppe Children's Aid Foundation, and the Zurich Children's Hospital. The organizations are each being considered for a six-month period. 

Wisli Foundation

The Wisli Foundation was supported from July until the end of December 2024. During this time, proceeds of CHF 224,252.50 were collected. The Wisli Foundation is actively committed to the inclusion of people with mental disabilities. Various housing, work and integration options tailored to individual needs enable participation in social life. The Foundation is also active at Zurich Airport, where employees work with Gate Gourmet AG to load the aircraft trolleys and clean and pack the cutlery. Overall, the Wisli Foundation strives to create a comprehensive support network that accompanies people in all areas of life to enable them to lead fulfilling and self-determined lives.

Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society 

The Swiss MS Society will be supported from January to June 2025. It is the point of contact for people with multiple sclerosis, their relatives, volunteers, and specialists. With its comprehensive range of services and support, the Swiss MS Society offers around 18,000 people professional support in all areas of life – neutral, competent and independent of pharmaceutical medication. 

“Charity Water” for a good purpose 

The “Charity Water” project was launched in 2014 as a joint project between Airport Zurich Ltd. and Avolta. For every bottle of mineral water from the Adello spring in Adelboden sold at a price of CHF 2.50, 50 cents is donated to a charitable cause.
