Zurich Airport reaches a new annual peak in passenger figures

Summary

In 2025, 32.6 million passengers passed through Zurich Airport. Compared to last year, this corresponds to an increase of 4.5%. Compared to 2019, passenger numbers are at 103.4%.

The passenger numbers have, for the first time over the full year, exceeded pre-crisis levels. On an annual basis, never before in the airport’s history have more people traveled through Zurich Airport than in 2025. The number of air traffic movements was 270,116 in 2025, an increase of 3.5% compared to 2024 and 1.9% below the 2019 level. Passenger numbers therefore increased more strongly than the number of flight movements. As a result, seat occupancy in 2025 rose by 1.5 percentage points compared with 2019, to 79.8%. This was due both to the use of larger aircraft and to higher load factors.

A total of 440,930 tons of cargo were handled at Zurich Airport in 2025. Compared to the previous year, this represents an increase of 1.1% and compared to 2019, a decrease of 2.4%.

Zurich Airport Ltd. will report in detail on the course of business in 2025 on 10 March 2026.
