Flughafen Zürich AG has decided to continuously affiliate its employees with the Employee Pension Fund of the Canton of Zurich (BVK). The decision was made based on a throughout analysis and weighing up every aspect.

The employees of Flughafen Zürich AG are affiliated with the Employee Pension Fund of the Canton of Zurich (BVK) which will become an independent legal entity by January 1, 2014. Under these circumstances and with the upcoming restructuring measures of the BVK, Flughafen Zürich AG assessed the new affiliation contract offered by BVK and also other options for the future regulation of its employee benefit pension plan. Based on the results of this assessment and carefully weighing all interests involved, the Management Board and the Board of Directors of Flughafen Zürich AG endorse remaining with BVK. Signing the new affiliation contract with BVK presumably leads to a new classification of the employee benefit plan according to IAS 19.
