New charges come into force on September 01, 2016 / Update on guidance 2016
The charges which Flughafen Zürich AG applied for in September 2015 will be introduced by September 01, 2016.
With the decree issued on May 03, 2016 FOCA approves the charges Flughafen Zürich AG has applied for. An agreement with the airlines went ahead of this application. The new charges will in principle be implemented as of September 01, 2016 with validity of four years.
With the implementation of the approved operational charges, passengers and airlines benefit from lower costs, while the costs in the regulated segment are being covered at the same time. Thus both, the competitiveness and the viability of Zurich Airport can be further increased.
The following overview shows the passenger-related charges decreed by FOCA:

Other charges affected as well
The landing and parking charges are also being adjusted pursuant the application of September 2015. These adjustments include in particular simplifications in the calculation of the landing and parking charges, which are based on weight classes henceforward. In addition, Flughafen Zürich AG introduces a volume discount on passenger charges, as already established at other airports, of which 20 airlines will benefit.
Update guidance 2016
With the introduction of the decreed operational charges on September 01, 2016, the aviation revenues for the 2016 financial year are expected to be just about on the same level as in the prior year. The charges reduction which Flughafen Zürich AG applied for is compensated by the passenger growth of between 3.0% and 3.5% (previously around 3.0%). Excluding the one-off effects of 2015 and of the current year, Flughafen Zürich AG expects a net profit excluding noise for 2016 just about on the same level as last year.
