Commissioning of Noida International Airport planned for the end of April 2025
Construction work on Flughafen Zürich AG's largest international project in the greater Delhi area is entering its final phase. Noida International Airport, the second major city airport, will be operational at the end of April 2025.
Many important milestones were reached on the way to operational readiness. Construction work on the runway, the passenger terminal and the control tower is well advanced. Recently, the last concessions for ground handling, the operation of commercial areas and important maintenance contracts were awarded. In addition, agreements were signed with several airlines for flight connections from Noida International Airport.
Start of operations by the end of April 2025
The project team is working closely with total contractor Tata Projects Limited and other specialist firms to ensure the pace of construction activities and preparations for operational readiness. According to current forecasts, the planned investment framework of around CHF 750 million can still be adhered to. Most of the crucial construction work will be completed by the end of 2024. Commissioning has been set for the end of April 2025. Plans for the expansion of additional stands have already been initiated by Flughafen Zürich AG due to the strong growth of the Indian aviation industry.
About Noida International Airport
Noida International Airport (IATA code: DXN) will connect Greater Delhi and the West of Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and the world. Noida International Airport combines Indian culture and hospitality with Swiss efficiency to provide its passengers with versatile experiences and comprehensive commercial attractions and services. In a first phase, the airport will feautre a runway and a passenger terminal with ten stands at the building and another 15 open stands, and will operate with a capacity of 12 million passengers per year. The concession for Noida International Airport started in 2021 and will run for 40 years.

Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) was established for the development, construction and operation of Noida International Airport. The company is responsible for the implementation of the public-private partnership project together with the government of Uttar Pradesh, the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority. YIAPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG (ZAIA). ZAIA, in turn, is a 100% subsidiary of Flughafen Zürich AG and develops and operates airports in Latin America, the Caribbean and India.
