Charity Water: Around 199,000 Swiss Francs for the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society
In the first half of 2025, sales of "Charity Water" at Zurich Airport raised CHF 198,635 for the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society. Through this initiative, Airport Zurich Ltd. and Avolta regularly support different charitable organizations. In the second half of the year, the proceeds will benefit the allani Children’s Hospice Foundation in Bern.
Since 2014, duty-free shops operated by Avolta (formerly Dufry) at Zurich Airport have been offering a Swiss mineral water for CHF 2.50. For every bottle sold, 50 cents are donated to a charitable organization.
The Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society
From January to June 2025, the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society was the beneficiary of the campaign. As the nationwide point of contact for people with multiple sclerosis, their relatives, volunteers, and professionals, the organization provides effective services and relief programs to around 18,000 people affected in Switzerland – impartial, competent, and independent of the pharmaceutical industry.
“This donation enables us to provide effective support and guidance to people with MS in all stages of life. We are grateful for the solidarity of passengers and the airport community,” says Regula Muralt of the MS Society.
Outlook: allani Children’s Hospice Foundation Bern
From July to December 2025, the proceeds will go to the allani Children’s Hospice Foundation in Bern – the first children’s hospice in Switzerland. Allani is a lovingly designed temporary home for children and adolescents with potentially life-shortening illnesses. In the renovated farmhouse, affected families can find peace during recurring stays, enjoy time together, and rely on professional care and personal support.
Longstanding Commitment
With the Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society, Zurich Airport Ltd. and Avolta have now supported their tenth organization through the Charity Water project. Previous beneficiaries include the Wisli Foundation, the Sternschnuppe Children’s Aid Foundation, and Zurich Children’s Hospital.
